A frenetic month for parents who have to prepare their children for a new school term. Outside school hours there are over 20 municipal colleges offering children classes in most sports, dancing, music, theatre and drama, photography and art. Some schools also have their own extra-curriculum activities and many of the towns choirs and bands offer classes in music for children and adults. This is a month of music in the plazas, something which is likely to be extended this year to include the larger urbanisations. Torrelamata has brought in the wine harvest and there is a local boozy fiesta for grape treaders. Some great Moors & Christian battles are still around in nearby towns and the traffic will have eased off a little.

September is a month dedicated to the Virgen Mary under various titles, including the Virgen of Loreto denoting a famous battle won against the Turks. So because this many towns have Moors & Christian parades.
