October can be a lovely month with plenty going on with two main public holidays – Valencian Day on the 9th, and then 12th Dia de Hispanidad celebrated by the Guardia Civil and most Latin American countries. This is reflected in the all day festival, probably in the Jardin de las Naciones, with entertainment by the South American community with lots of lively music and samba, rhumba, merengue and other wonderful dances. Both La Mata and Guardamar celebrate on the 7th the feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. http://www.guardamar.net/fiestas_c.asp
