It is likely that this year an old fiesta will be reborn in Torrevieja around the 15th of the month. This was when the Salt Parade was held, but once the town became too congested for a parade it was stopped. However, it is likely to be held in one of the parks with a terrific carnival atmosphere. There are plenty of outdoor activities and a great cultural programme in the main auditoriums and along the seafront. Neighbouring towns still offer Moors & Christian parades, Altea has the wonderful Castell de olla firework display set to music. This may be outdone by the annual Nit d’Alba fireworks display of Elche as part of their month long festivities.
