With Easter past, most towns settle down for a quiet life. Torrevieja has several cultural events on offer, including the Torrevieja Infantil Habaneras competitions. Today there are many groups from other parts of Spain and this month a group with origins form Castile and Leon region hold their own fiestas on 22nd, so this is an opportunity to enjoy traditional dancing and gastronomy of this region without leaving town.
The preparations for the successful European Cultural festival of last year in which individual artists and musicians, bands and choirs, all gave their time free to treat the public to a variety of real live entertainment and at the same time raised 7,608 euros that was divided amongst six local charities. 23 - St. George a public holiday in Castilla-Leon but celebrations in Torrevieja with typical folk music and dancing.
